Financial Controller - Regional Queensland (12-Month Contract)

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead a regional finance team, delivering high-quality financial management and strategic support across payroll, rates, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions.

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead a regional finance team, delivering high-quality financial management and strategic support across payroll, rates, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage financial operations with effective controls, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and standards.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, budgets, and ad-hoc reporting to support decision-making.
- Assist in annual financial statements preparation and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Provide financial guidance to managers and support grant submissions and acquittals.
- Act as a key finance partner to senior leadership and deputise for the CFO when required.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting; CPA or CA highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and managing full-cycle financial operations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- High-level problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems highly desirable.
- Ability to travel between regional work sites and office locations; Class C driver's licence required.
