We are currently seeking an experienced Parking Officer for a contract opportunity within local government, supporting the delivery of parking compliance services across the municipality.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in parking enforcement, local laws, compliance or community safety, who is confident working independently, engaging with the public and applying legislation fairly and consistently.

About the role

You will play an important frontline role in ensuring safe and compliant parking outcomes across the municipality through education, patrols and enforcement activity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting patrols across designated areas to monitor parking compliance
• Issuing infringement notices in accordance with relevant legislation and council procedures
• Responding to customer requests and parking complaints
• Providing clear advice to motorists and members of the public
• Recording daily activities and maintaining accurate electronic records
• Reporting signage, road safety issues and other compliance concerns
• Supporting broader local laws activities where required

About you

To be successful, you will bring:

• Experience in parking enforcement, local laws or regulatory compliance
• Sound understanding of parking legislation and infringement processes
• Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
• Good written communication and attention to detail
