Description:
We’re currently seeking an experienced Planning Compliance Officer for a contract opportunity within local government, supporting a busy compliance team managing planning investigations and statutory enforcement matters.

This role will suit someone with a background in planning enforcement, statutory compliance, local laws, building compliance or regulatory investigations who is confident managing complaints, undertaking site inspections and driving practical compliance outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Investigating alleged breaches of planning permits and planning scheme requirements
  • Undertaking site inspections and gathering evidence
  • Preparing notices, correspondence and enforcement documentation
  • Managing customer complaints and responding to service requests
  • Liaising with residents, developers, landowners and external authorities
  • Assisting with preparation for VCAT and court proceedings where required
  • Supporting the delivery of timely and practical compliance outcomes
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience in planning compliance, statutory enforcement or a related local government role
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation and enforcement processes
  • Excellent written communication and case management skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters professionally and diplomatically
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders and resolving complex issues
