We are seeking a Senior Finance Advisor (A06) to join a leading Queensland government department responsible for managing critical transport networks and infrastructure projects across the state. We are seeking a Senior Finance Advisor (A06) to join a leading Queensland government department responsible for managing critical transport networks and infrastructure projects across the state. This is a dynamic environment where your finance expertise will support projects that keep communities moving safely and efficiently.
The Role
- Full-time Contract position.
- Location: 61 Mary Street, Brisbane City, QLD 4000
- Rate: $79.18 – $84.56 per hour plus super
- Monday to Friday
- Prepare and manage reconciliations across payroll, Superstream, long service leave, HRIS, and Paid Parental Leave schemes.
- Monitor the general ledger, perform accrual sampling, and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Support preparation of interim and year-end financial statements, analytical reviews, and quarterly reporting.
- Provide guidance on financial policies, procedures, and SAP system processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls, leveraging digital tools and data analytics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, regional offices, and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of financial management legislation, policies, and practices working in Government or with Large corperations.
- Skilled in general ledger processes, reporting, and financial systems.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to provide strategic advice.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player experienced in stakeholder engagement.
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration highly desirable.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent membership highly regarded.
