Join our client, a major NSW government agency delivering large-scale road maintenance and resilience programs across metropolitan and regional networks.

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administration Officer with strong exposure to progress claims and contractor variations to support operational project teams within a high-volume infrastructure environment.

The Role This position plays a key role in supporting the commercial relationship between project teams, contractors and shared services functions. The focus is on ensuring all contractor claims, variations and payments are assessed, processed and managed in line with legislative and financial compliance requirements.

You will operate autonomously within agreed work plans, managing competing priorities and ensuring statutory timeframes are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, assess and process contractor progress claims
  • Prepare and issue payment schedules and payment certificates in accordance with the Security of Payment Act (SOPA)
  • Assess, track and manage contract variations
  • Raise, amend and reconcile purchase orders
  • Support month-end accruals and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate records across SAP and procurement systems
  • Liaise with internal project managers, engineers and shared services teams
  • Respond to contractor and supplier enquiries relating to claims and payments
  • Ensure compliance with NSW Government financial policies and audit requirements
Key selection criteria:
  • Demonstrated experience processing progress claims in a construction, civil or infrastructure environment
  • Strong understanding of contractor variations and contract administration processes
  • Experience working within strict statutory timeframes (SOPA exposure highly regarded)
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP/procurement systems
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple claims and competing deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • A Certificate IV in Business, Finance, Administration or Accounting (or equivalent practical experience) will be highly regarded.
