Our client, a successful and growing consultancy are seeking to engage a permanent Senior Town Planner to join their vibrant and proactive planning team. they work through a number of sectors including residential, commercial, major infrastructure and renewables.

Specifically this position will focus upon renewable energy, ports, utilities, mining and master planned developments

Key attributes and experience:

• Strong experience and understanding of the QLD planning and environmental approvals process
• Demonstrated experience in managing development approvals for infrastructure, utilities, transmission, community, sand extraction, dredging and port related projects   
• Experience in renewable energy projects, including BESS, solar, wind and transmission infrastructure   
• Preparation of Environmental Authority (EA) Applications under the Environmental Protection Act  
• Experience of Environmentally Relevant Activities (ERAs)
• Experience with Operational Works triggers, State Codes
• SARA referrals and State Interest considerations
• Ability to negotiate with State Agencies, DETSI, TMR, DAF, port regulatory bodies
• Experience with Ministerial Infrastructure Designations  
• Interest in building new and maintaining client relationships 
• Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years’ Queensland experience, within consultancy and/or government
• Strong understanding of the QLD planning and environmental approvals process
• Demonstrated experience managing approvals for infrastructure, utilities, transmission, ports, dredging, sand extraction and community projects
• Proven experience in renewable energy, including solar, wind, BESS and transmission infrastructure
