Osborne Richardson are key suppliers for Queensland State Government across the state and we have been called upon, once again, to assist this Transport and Main Roads focused department in Townsville.
You will join the existing team, in Townsville CBD, as Program Support Officer on an initial 3 month contract which will commence in early February. Although only short-term to start off, we do have high hopes that this role will extend onwards once you have had the chance to make yourself indispensable. Pay rate on offer is up to $56.73 per hour + Super.
In your new role, you will utilise a broad range of computer software programs and information management systems to provide high level support services which enhance the timely and effective delivery of project/s within the Northern District.

Key responsibilities will be extensive and fast-paced, including:
- Providing high-quality administrative and coordination support to the district to enable the effective delivery of a district-wide program of works, including coordinating meetings and workshops, preparing agendas, recording minutes and actions, maintaining program schedules, and supporting consistent information flow across the program.
- Coordinating and maintaining program documentation, registers, trackers, reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft and other business applications to support monitoring, reporting and assurance of program progress, ensuring information is accurate, current and fit for purpose.
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the program of works, including managing and prioritising enquiries, coordinating follow-up actions, and ensuring timely and clear communication to support agreed outcomes and timeframes.
- Supporting compliance with departmental policies, procedures, legislation (including WH&S) and governance requirements by maintaining accurate records, monitoring administrative processes, and escalating issues as required.
- Working collaboratively within the district to support a positive and high-performing work environment, contributing to continuous improvement in administrative and program coordination practices.
- Demonstrated high-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and related business systems.
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative and coordination support within a program, project or operational environment, including supporting reporting, governance and stakeholder engagement processes will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally, adapting written and verbal communication to suit a range of stakeholders and support effective coordination, reporting and delivery of program activities.
- Proven ability to coordinate program support activities, anticipate requirements, adapt to changing priorities and take initiative to ensure program documentation, records, meeting outputs and action tracking are accurate, current and fit for purpose.
- Ability to analyse information, identify potential risks or issues impacting the delivery of a program of works, and implement or escalate appropriate mitigation measures in accordance with established processes.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality, accurate work within agreed timeframes in a program or operational environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, contributing positively to a small team environment and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
